GET TO KNOW OUR STORY

"Nowwwwww this is a story all about how my life got twisted upside down. Wait that’s not it...ahem! It allllll started one October years ago when he walked into her office with his mom Joann to see Sandy, her, the bride’s coworker. Sandy was bit by the matchmaking bug and thought she could set him up with someone in the office, but it wasn’t her. On his way out, they locked eyes and smiled. Nothing more because he was there for someone else. Little did he know he was about to be turned down because of his blonde hair.
Months would pass and seasons changed. One day Sandy said to her “Someone has a crush on you.” Baffled, she asked who. Which Sandy replied, “My friend who came in, her son.” Oh no, she thought he was interested in someone else. However, that was not the case. He wanted her the whole time but felt obligated to try to meet her coworker. Since he didn’t go out with the coworker, he was able to go for who he really connected with. She was guarded and wanted his email as she does not freely give out her number. One email led to the best first date of her life. Her heart was captured and the story continues today."

"She was working for an insurance company. He was swinging by the office with his mother to visit his mom’s long-time friend who had ordered some jam. He was “supposed” to meet someone there; a girl, who his mother’s friend wanted to introduce him to. He met her. She was not his type but he followed through exchanging pleasantries and joking, all the while thinking of the girl he passed at the reception counter when he walked in. He got the other girls phone number. They texted, made plans, and she canceled on him and he didn’t really care. Plans never got rescheduled and he was okay with that too.
Fast forward 8 months: he’s talking with his parents and they ask if he is seeing anyone. He says no, his mom mentions her friend, Sandy, who works in the insurance office. He asks if that girl at the front desk is single. His mom doesn’t know but she says she’ll ask. The next day he hears she is single. He gives the go ahead to his mother to pass along his phone number. She had beautiful eyes and a knockout smile, something he couldn’t forget. He finds out that her phone is broken but she wants his email and he obliges. His mom gives it to Sandy, who in turn gives it to her. Apparently, later down the line we find out Sandy thought he went out with the other girl and did not want to pass along the information, fearing this boy would “make his way” through the office ladies. A coworker intervened arguing that it wasn’t fair, that it wasn’t up to her to not pass along the info. The boy is clueless to all of this and gets an email in a matter of days.
Emails continue to be exchanged; lengthy ones about life, hobbies, traveling and good times. A time and place are established. A Sunday. Having been over 8 months since he caught her eye walking through the door, they anxiously await each other in front of a bar downtown. They are looking around out on the street and actually pass by each other. They both stop, turn around, and point at each other with a confused look on their faces. They realize it’s the person they were waiting for. The person they have been waiting 28 years for."
